What is the Deliverability Score?
A 0–100 score representing how likely an email is to arrive without bouncing.
The deliverability score is a number from 0 to 100 representing how likely an email address is to successfully receive your message without bouncing or causing reputation damage.
How to read it
| Score | Rating | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 90–100 | Excellent | Safe to send |
| 70–89 | Good | Generally safe |
| 40–69 | Moderate | Review before sending |
| 1–39 | High risk | Avoid sending |
| 0 | Invalid | Do not send |
What drives the score
The score is calculated from the primary risk signal on the email. Key signal scores:
- Disposable domain → score ~5
- SMTP rejected → score ~2
- Domain typo detected → score ~10
- Role account (info@, noreply@) → score ~35
- New domain (<90 days) → score ~55
- Catch-all domain → score ~60
- Free email provider → score ~72
- Valid with MX records → score ~95
The deliverability score answers: "Will this email bounce?" The spam risk score (a separate metric) answers: "Will this email hit spam filters?"
