What is the Blacklist Monitor?

Check your domains against Spamhaus, SURBL, Barracuda, and URIBL.

The Blacklist Monitor checks every unique domain in your upload against four major DNS-based blacklists. A blacklisted domain indicates that mail servers worldwide have flagged it for spam, phishing, or abusive email.

The four blacklists we check

BlacklistWhat it detects
Spamhaus DBLDomains used in spam, phishing, and malware
SURBLDomains appearing in spam message bodies
Barracuda BRBLDomains flagged by Barracuda's reputation network
URIBL BlackDomains used in unsolicited bulk email

What a blacklist hit means for you

If a domain in your list is blacklisted:

  1. The domain owner's mail infrastructure may be compromised or abused
  2. The domain itself is associated with spam activity

Sending to contacts at blacklisted domains may trigger aggressive spam filtering — your email may be blocked or junked.

What to do with blacklisted domains

For outbound prospecting: suppress these contacts or flag them for manual review. A blacklisted domain doesn't mean the individual person is bad, but the domain's reputation creates delivery risk.

Important note

Blacklist data is populated as part of Deep Analysis. Run Deep Analysis on your upload first to see Blacklist Monitor results.
